Winning volleyball players in Kenya now have one more reason to celebrate. The Locker Room Bonus has launched with the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF), rewarding every player on a winning team with KSh4,000, paid straight to their mobile wallet minutes after the final whistle.

The bonus covers both the men's and women's National Leagues for the 2026–2027 season, and betPawa is one of its sponsors.

Bonuses Paid on Court

The launch kicked off with demo games at the indoor complex of Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi. In the women's game, KDF took on DCI, while Chema Volleyball Club faced KAPU in the men's. After each game, the winning players received their bonuses on their phones within minutes, in front of fans, teammates and KVF leadership.

For KVF vice-president Paul Bitok, who has played and coached the game himself, it's a big change.

“I have been a player and coach, and we did not have this kind of motivation. It is a game changer for the small teams.”

Locker Room Bonus ambassador Mr Eazi was there too, with a message for the players.

“In the DNA of every athlete is to win. So every athlete wants to win and that is what we want to encourage with Locker Room Bonus.”

Getting Clubs Ready for the Season

On Friday 16 October, club administrators, coaches and players joined a workshop on how the bonus works and how to register players on the Locker Room Bonus platform, so every club is ready when the season starts.

Thousands of athletes across Africa have already been rewarded through the Locker Room Bonus, in sports including football, basketball and volleyball. Kenya’s volleyball players are the latest to join them.
